One word to sum up my career - blessed! I have been a part of this industry for 23 years, and it has been an amazing journey. I love what I do! I first discovered my passion for hair in high school when I took a cosmetology course, I fell completely in love with it. From there I worked in different salons as an assistant and eventually transitioned to a stylist, learning different techniques from everyone I worked for. I still use so much of what they taught me today, and I'm grateful for all of it!
One of the aspects I love the most about my career is making people feel good about themselves; I love people. I love hearing about everyone's lives and everyone's different stories, and most of all I love making people happy. The personal connections and friendships I've made are amazing, and I'm surrounded by so many great people in my life because of it.
I believe that education is the most important ingredient for anyone in this industry. As a stylist, it's important to keep learning and growing. There is always something new to learn or improve on, and that is something we all constantly do here. I've had a lot of great education over the years, including Bumble and Bumble, Goldwell, Wella, Phyto, Oribe, Sassoon, and Redken, amongst many other classes and seminars. Knowledge keeps me inspired - which is also important. I draw inspiration daily; whether it be from education, a person, a flower, or the sky. The most simple beautiful thing can spark a great new idea for hair, which is so much fun!
As far as specialties go, it's hard to say because I really love it all! Pixies, highlights, layers, perms, men's cuts...I enjoy always doing something different. I love challenges and projects! I find the bigger the challenge, the more I enjoy it; and seeing a big change is always fun for me.
I've been given a great gift in life; I genuinely love what I do. I intend to share my happiness with every client I meet, and seeing them leave with a smile is reward enough for me.
